I would prefer not spraying or using mothballs because of my child and pets. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to trap these critters that love to hide in dark and damp spots. I just hate finding them when I turn on the lights!

They like damp. Try silica gel (which is non-toxic)

do not spill water if you do then ear wigs come and they are stentapde or just grab a paper and stomp it on the earwig and then pick it up with a paper and through it away

dampen a chunk of cardboard and put it out. They will be attracted to hide under it. In the afternoon lift it up and stomp on the bugs. I like cardboard better than newspaper only because it stays damp better, if you use newspaper, have it a couple of sheets thick, but remember they may hide in between the sheets.
